The October Kickstarter and Obsession Retail
(comprehensive update)

Many of you want to purchase some (or all) of the existing Obsession games in the Kickstarter campaign. I am thrilled you do, but I will not be offering games that are commercially available during this Kickstarter. I apologize for this, but let me explain.
I have established retail channels around the world, excellent international and domestic FLGS partners who have spent and continue to spend considerable time, effort, and money to make Obsession available (it has not always been easy to keep in stock).
The US and Canada are now well-stocked, and currently there are games arriving in European and other international markets. It would be unethical, in my opinion, for me to offer retail games during a Kickstarter and cannibalize partner business just as all their inventory is rolling in.
In addition, my localization partners who have translated Obsession into German, French, Italian, Polish, Spanish, Chinese, and Korean have inventory in those countries for the first time (German-language Obsession was a hit at Essen!), and it is possible that bilingual gamers in these countries might decide instead to get an English-language bundle during my campaign (note that most of these same localization publishers will be publishing the new expansion in 2024).
